  • EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS Recall for 2001 Toyota Camry

    • Recall Announced MAY 11 2009
    • NHTSA Reference #09E025000
    • Number Affected 42,540

    Summary: Dope, Inc. Is recalling 42,540 combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies of various part numbers sold for use as aftermarket equipment for various passenger vehicles. These headlamps fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard no. 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, And Associated Equipment." These lamps do not contain the required amber side reflectors.

    Consequence: Decreased lighting visibility may result in a vehicle crash.

    Fix: Dope, Inc. Will notify owners and offer a full refund for the noncompliant combination lamps. The safety recall began on July 28, 2009. Owners may contact dope, Inc. At 1-626-272-1798.

  • EXTERIOR LIGHTING Recall for 2001 Toyota Camry

    • Number Affected 61,944

    Summary: Certain pro-a motors corner lamps, turn signals, and headlights sold as replacement lamps for use on certain passenger vehicles listed above. Some combination lamps that are not equipped with amber side reflectors fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard no. 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.

    Consequence: Without the amber reflectors, the vehicle will be poorly illuminated, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash without warning.

    Fix: Pro-a motors will notify owners and offer to repurchase the lamps. The recall began on April 3, 2006. Owners may contact pro-a motors at 323-838-2988.

  • STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS Recall for 2001 Toyota Camry

    • Recall Announced MARCH 05 2001
    • NHTSA Reference #01V072000
    • Number Affected 545

    Summary: Vehicle description: Passenger vehicles. The front sub frame assembly has not been adequately welded.

    Consequence: This condition could cause failure of the assembly following long-term usage, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the front sub frame, if necessary. Owner notification began April 9, 2001. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

  • VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL Recall for 2001 Toyota Camry

    • Recall Announced JANUARY 16 2001
    • NHTSA Reference #01V012000
    • Number Affected 53,061

    Summary: Vehicle description: Passenger vehicles equipped with cruise control and V6 engines, and built at one of two lines at the Kentucky plant. The accelerator cable housing could be deformed at the cruise control actuator-to-throttle body connection. The accelerator inner-cable could wear away and eventually break.

    Consequence: This could allow the throttle to return to idle or remain in its most recent position regardless of accelerator pedal operation, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Fix: Dealers will replace the accelerator cable. Owner notification began February 23, 2001. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.
